Well it looks like the corn kernels in my WBS jars, but I see why you’re worried. Is this popcorn or cracked corn?

Looks baterial to me unfortunately, could be wrong. It will most likely smell bad when you open it up for transfer. If it smells like Mushrooms send it. Walmart sells 20# bags of wbs for under 7$

In my opinion, the amount of moisture on almost every grain of popcorn indicates bacteria to a level I would personally not ever bother spawning.

If you're really tryna just use food stamps then go to an Indian store and get you some cheap rice.

Most American supermarkets don't have very good deals on rice. I'm talking about the like 25kg bags for like $10. Rice is a grain... There are plenty of old teks using rice. I'm not recommending it over other more shakeable grains outright, but simply suggesting that if one is to use food stamps then get the most grain for your stamp.

Uuuh no. A cake is a cake is a cake. It’s not a replacement for grain.
Here’s a quote from the tek you just linked: “B rown rice is also wonderful but is limited in use. Its high nutrition and water-holding capacity can become very starchy and sticky to the point of being difficult to use for "spawning" teks unless precisely hydrated lightly, but it flourishes in a grow technique where the substrate is never broken-up”

You pounting out what I already acknowledged doesn't change the fact that rice is a grain, can be used, and has been in teks for over 5 yrs

What link? The delicious rice recipe? Don’t see how it’s relevant. If rice can replace grain in cultivation I’d love to know how. Really, it’d simplify things.

Nah the violet tek. It's not perfect, but neither is popcorn. Hell I bet of you got the hydration ratio right and maybe use some gypsum it could be perfectly adequate. I only mention it for broke ass cats tryna use food stamps.

@Feld, how is it not relevant?
No one has claimed it to be better or preferred over other traditional grain
it was mearly a claim that for the food stamp money, he could buy a lot of rice
which, as that link shows, can be used for spawn if hydrated carfully or if you just dont care about a shake Quote:

please finish the quote "but it flourishes in a grow technique where the substrate is never broken-up. With the bonus of perfect discretion in storage, this may indeed make it a grain of choice for grows like violet tek! Thus I'm here showcasing whole brown rice for much more widespread use and showing how"
and grinding the grain into a flour means its no longer grain? Either way people have been using BRF cakes as spawn shredded to shoeboxes of coir no nutritional issues from " not using grain"

In cultivation, grains are used to inoculate bulk subs. Therefore, grain needs to be broken up for use. So, yes, in the context of this cult discussion, it stops being grain once you grind it up and make it into a cake. I got hype thinking I can just substitute grain with rice. Didn’t mean to give offense or bad vibes of any kind. Peace.

Get a pressure cooker, presto 21 qt on Amazon is around 60$ or a used all American model 921. Use wild bird seed from Walmart. 20lb bag, under 7$, mix grain spawn with coir and vermiculite in .5 micron mycobag or tub
