First BRF grow - possible contam or tomentose?
    #26331668 - 11/19/19 04:45 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

I'm just starting out and have prepared five half pint jars. They all seem to be going good, except for one. It looks fine, but it feels like something is wrong.

I inoculated at four points and at one of the points, the growth has been a little bit slower and doesn't have the rhizomorphic "veins" like the other points. I've searched around the forum and it seems it may just be tomentose type of growth, which I think is okay?

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I'm just a bit confused starting out. I don't want to fruit something that might be contaminated. If I did that, could it potentially cause problems for the other cakes if they're in the same fruiting chamber?

The growth I'm concerned with is on the left side of the picture. Thanks a lot!

I don’t have a ton of experience but it looks ok to me. Nothing that would prevent you from fruiting it at least.
