exFAT to FAT32 SD Card
    #26331316 - 11/19/19 02:28 PM (4 years, 2 months ago)

How does one change a microsd exFat to a Fat32 if the windows format option does not show it? (only shows exFat and NTFS)

I have tried installing these programs that claim to help but they try to charge money after going through the process. (partionwizard and onceus)

Frustrated. Trying to fix this for my boss for a week now.

Windows doesn't natively support FAT32 partitions over 32GB; presumably your SD card is larger than that so the option for FAT32 isn't displayed. You can use a different OS or a third-party volume management tool instead. I don't remember what I did the last time I had this problem but it looks like Fat32Formatter should fit the bill.

Hmm, did you right-click the executable and "run as administrator"?

What about this app, any better luck?

After using ridgecrop I was able to make it say in disc manager that its now a Fat32 but the microsdcard is still not working in my security camera DVR system.

It works in my phone. And I have 1 of 4 microsd's working on the DVR. 3 microsds arent working even when I plug 1 in by itself or any variation thereof.

The 1 that is working is a strontium nitro the 3 that arent working are sandisk.

When I looked at the strontium it said it was a fat32 by default. So I've been trying to make the other 3 fat32 and now I have i think? But not working.

Take a look at Rufus, it might work for formatting your cards.

I think fat32 is depreciated in terms of support. Fat32 was before WIndows XP, like Windows 95 or something.
