Just added a top layer(I wont call it casing as its coir and verm) after 100%colonisation. Now waiting till that is 50-70% colonised and then will fruit in my mono.
I have a 110 litre tub thats massive which I might just try as a fruiting chamber to give it more fresh air.

Ive got the comedy Stone producing mono going. Ive only added 2 top holes atm. I will spin the lid when there is pin life for the first tub.
Spawn ratio for ATL#7 A sample 1:1
Whats going through my brain is do I mist it, add lower holes, perhaps a room fan leave the lid off now and again.

Ive been misting lightly but im not sure these like that now.
Im thinking this mono really is too big. Im after more air in the game but without holes at the bottom it will just bathe in its on co2.
What would you guys do here? Keep it clean......or dont.....

Mycolorado said: I’ve gone both ways but prefer to let it work its way into the casing. I like to add sand to the casings as tamps/stone producers seem to produce a better pin set in my tests with it in the mix. See:

Ive just bought some desert sand to try this tek know
When growing in bags is it better to flatten the grains like this?

So Finally go the bits to do a sand casing
97.34% colonised(already cased with coir which its feed on already)
Ingredients for casing
Mixed together 50:50 about 4 cups here. 1 gram of lime per cup. Mixed into an amount of water under what I think FC will be.
Substrate cased 1/4 inch thick
Place back in my oversizes tub. Still not sure what im doing with this.
Made a LC tonight to get ready for 10 bags of stones to be stored for when I travel.......
Should I store them in the dark is the question?

These stones are from one mono tub nearly a pound and a half worth.
Also got quite a few fruits from it they were galindoi atl#7 or whatever they are now. But the tub kept fruiting for about 2 months probably yielded close to 2 oz in the end. Used 3 qt of spawn. They are not the best for fruits better for stones ime.
Stones definitely grow bigger and faster in bulk from what I've seen and it's nothing to give them a quick bath and clean them off.

So the fruits are just a bonus really. What do you think about the fruiting chamber?

I do. In all my stone jars the first place that they form is the bottom and then the sides would start. Once I started putting them in the closet they started to form more uniformly across the jar. Shrug hands up emoji

Yeah it wasnt just a what if question. Many experienced sclet growers swear by dark being a benificial step...... Im just putting it out there. The science behind the theory would be an enjoyable read too....

This is such a great instructive post. I learned so much from this, thank you!
I have just spawn Galindoli grains to coir substrate 1:1 after separating the stones from the spawn, a 3/4 full one quart spawn jar yielded 44 grams of stones after 5 weeks... They are very small truffles, the biggest being 3/4 inch but I feel so satisfied!
This has been my 1st grow and I can't wait to harvest the Psilocybe Galingoli fruits!

So I cased all shoe boxes, left 2 in colonising conditions and 1 in fruiting conditions to see if there is any difference like with cubes.

Hey mang, I've been working with tamps and galindoi since the summer I have about 25 jars going atm. I haven't frooted any yet but I've been spawning the jars once I've harvested them to coir.
I usually get 1-2x the weight of what was in the jar from the tubs so I'd say it's worth harvesting from the jar and then spawning.
I'm going to try and froot these though. Only thing is idk if they will as I've been selecting myc for stones and cloning stones too
I've 3 bags going atm (this is straw & coir) it's about a month and a half now and there's some big looking Bois poking at the sides so I'm hoping by Christmas I'll have a decent wee harvest.
