Its taken so long for this, I didn't think it would even grow anything. In the photo above, I just recently planted in that pot. Before, it was out in the open, not in a planting pot in which it grew out new stuff.

So psyched its growing! :wooyeah:

:haha:

:wtfsonic:

Sorry...But I lost my shit seeing this. So much excitement over the wispy white worm of trichosaur! :stoned:

It's not growing man. It's etiolating beyond comprehension and is desperately trying to reach for light.

We can help. Follow the advice given above. It needs more light at the very least.

At least, they both had arms, which usually takes about 100 years to start growing , according to the ranger.
Here’s a few more pics

Yeah. Got to be in the 150 year old plus range. Largest one I've ssen is in cultivation and that's 80 years of age. It's not grown any arms yet.

Great pictures and landscape.

A couple years ago I yoinked a seed pod off a grocery store Gymnocalycium mihanovichii and sowed the seeds.
Got a few normal seedlings, most of which have been given away. I was also lucky enough to get an amazing crest mutant:

Compared to one of its normal siblings:

So one of my mammillarias is fairly yellow and I thought it was just getting too much sun but putting it in shade didn't turn it back to a dark green, now I'm thinking it might be deficient in chlorophyll. Thoughts are welcome!

Lobivia aurea var. shaferii f. monstrose - it burst on the other side >_>
Echinopsis cv. f. variegata (no idea what sorta family - poor orphan)
Chalaensis x VRG

sorry if too close

DW possibly you have a variegate too (which yeah means it is deficient in chlorophyll i guess) - just check etiolation and rule it out.. apparently you tried ruling out chlorosis.

If it reacts very differently to others which should have the exact same conditions, that is suspicious. But if you have other cacti also getting half pale and not growing, your lighting may be too weak.

I like your opuntia nate.  Are they native to your region?

Not those. Those are the Santa Rita prickly pear.(Opuntia gosseliniana?)
Got those in a trade last winter, and the pads have all fully rooted thru this summer, but I have seen no pups,or really any growth from these, other than fresh spines and the roots growing out of the bottom.Maybe it's because I've left them in the tiny pots used to root them?
I was hoping to have them rooted and productive this year,so I could do some trading with some neighbors for their red, yellow, and purple fruit prickly pears.

This is really nice. The small Opuntia in the large bed is cool too.
