That is an amazing picture! I was unsure of Sondland at first during the hearings today, but after hours of watching I like him. I think he is just trying to do the right thing and say the truth. Good man.

Wtf are you taking about. We know what happened behind closed doors because people behind those doors have been telling us. There’s really no doubt what happened. The question is whether he should be impeached for it.

The timing of the Stone trial and conviction was perfect. I think he had to decide whether it was worth lying for trump and stone demonstrates what happens to people who choose to cover for the president.
Sondland is rich and doesn’t need Trump for relevance. He’s not a sycophant.

This seems like a significant development. Nunes should be on the other side of the dais.

Quote:
Lev Parnas, an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for Rep. Devin Nunes in 2018, Parnas’ lawyer Ed MacMahon told The Daily Beast.
Nunes aide Derek Harvey participated in the meetings, the lawyer said, which were arranged to help Nunes’ investigative work. MacMahon didn’t specify what those investigations entailed.

The only thing people behind closed doors have been telling us is what they can tell us so they can keep their jobs and titles. People are selfish. They will say what they can to defend themselves and those who can help them.
It's human nature.

And your narrative is people will lie to keep their jobs. What about people telling the Truth for the love of their country? Or people telling the Truth as part of their job to the government they work for? Is not "human nature" as well?

Explain how this works in this situation. How does testifying that there was a quid pro quo help them keep their jobs? Seriously. You need to justify this baseless opinion.

I'm not rooting for Trump. You might recall I just said this:
Quote:
Falcon91Wolvrn03 said: I personally think Trump and Biden are both corrupt.
And if you want evidence Biden and the Democrats are corrupt, here's some:
Ukrainian MP Claims $7.4 Billion Obama-Linked Laundering, Puts Biden Group Take At $16.5 Million Joe Biden’s Family Has Been Cashing in on His Career for Decades. Democrats Need to Acknowledge That.
And this makes it all the better:
Democrats Reject GOP Subpoena Requests
Quote:
House Intelligence Committee Democrats voted down Republican efforts to subpoena the unidentified whistle-blower and Joe Biden’s son Hunter to appear for closed-door depositions.
Also rejected along party lines were GOP subpoena requests for records on Democratic National Committee communications with Ukrainian government officials and for records from a company related to Hunter Biden’s position on the Burisma Holdings board of directors.
Republicans say they’ve been barred from calling witnesses they contend could show that Trump had reason to seek investigations of the Bidens and Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election. They also want to question the whistle-blower about factual issues and the person’s motives for acting.
You may be right. Trump is going up against the establishment, so he'll probably lose.
I mean, without knowing who the players are, what's worse?
1. Being corrupt 2. Going after someone who is corrupt because you might soon run against them.

You don’t actually have a problem with corruption when you think it’s being used to bring down the establishment. That’s why you defend trumps blatantly corrupt behavior: “Trump is going up against the establishment,”

I'm not sure how stating a fact is supporting Trump.

Why was it necessary for Zelensky to publicly announce an investigation into Biden on American TV to get a meeting at the White House? What does a public announcement have to do with a proper investigation? That’s not how an investigation works. You do the investigation, then if you found wrong doing, then you make a public announcement.
The sad part is that it’s simply impossible for an actual investigation of Biden to happen now since trump has completely politicized it.

It's pretty obvious that there's an establishment of rich people who work with politicians and the media to keep themselves wealthy at our expense. You not believing this doesn't make it not true, it just makes you appear ignorant.

Trump going against the establishment?
I don't think so. Which establishment? Because he did align himself with the Christian right which is very much establishment. The good ol boy Republican club.
