Trump policies passed that were actually good
    #26315558 - 11/12/19 10:33 AM (4 years, 4 months ago)

I get a lot of bias in my news feed. And while I think Trump is basically a corporate shill who cares about nobody but himself, I'd like to hear some of the positives if there are any. What policies has he passed that have actually made a difference and helped the American people? Not including the incredibly wealthy people, we already know how much he helped the wealthy.

I voted for Trump because he campaigned on economic nationalism. Trump hasn't done a dam thing that he campaigned on because he's a sellout just like all the other US Presidents before him.

That's BS.  He's throwing tariffs at the Chinese and promoting buying American at every turn.  Do you think he can turn it around in a few years?  It'll take 30 years to right the wrongs of globalist bastards.

The trade deficits are up over 20% under Trump, we're going backwards with trade.

Shouldn't the D's be pointing this fact out for political leverage?  No, they're in on it as well.

Trade deficits could be fixed in little time IF the proper measures were taken, Trump doesn't have the power to do it for obvious reasons.

How do you not know the trade deficit has ballooned under trump. Do you actually believe what he says? Today he said he created 1.2 million manufacturing jobs then a minute later said he created 600,000 manufacturing jobs. He also said Ivanka’s work has created 14 million jobs, which would mean she is responsible for every job created in the past 8 years. He makes up shit that has no basis in reality.

When trump took over the monthly deficit was 42 billion per month. In January it hit 60 billion and is now around 53 billion.

Nothing yet. I was hoping someone would have something of substance to say and jump all over this. So far, the silence/misinformation is very damning.

I used to watch al jazzera. Comcast had to carry it in DC because there was a low power TV station that streamed it, and by law cable companies must carry local TV stations

I mean, you could call the GOP Tax Scam an "achomlishment".

Just don't pay attention to the deficit, or who got most of the benefits. I did all right, saved a few k. Of course, people that made median income saved maybe $100.

Al Jazeera is pretty good tbh. Of course you have to factor in the fact that it’s Qatari (state) media, but they do an excellent job on Africa, and are basically the only outlet discussing the Middle East on anything that’s not an attack or a bombing. Their coverage on Gaza especially is good.

Al Jazeera is a bit like the BBC--they're state funded, but independent from the state.

I wouldn’t say that. BBC covered up pedophilia and lied us into Iraq, two things the state very much wanted.

Same goes for Al Jazeera. When Saudi and Qatar were in that spat a few months ago, AJ went hard on Saudi like every day.

His economic polices, in particular his tax policy have been good for American business.
Stock market has extended its gains under his guidance.

Sure, yeah, if you don't pay attention to the deficit, or which businesses, or any of the other externalities.

I'm pretty sure it would have been more efficient to just straight up write a check from the government to everyone.

Hmmm. So trump is an epic fail and nobody can come up with a policy that actually benefit the AVERAGE american person. Sad.

Please remember that next time you vote.

I am currently wearing my "Trump lies matter" shirt, so you can guess how I feel about him. That being said:

He dealt with huawei appropriately, if I remember correctly.

He has brought tariffs into the realm of discussion for tools we can actually use. You can of course argue application is devastatingly bad and you need someone with a brain to use them to negotiate effectively... But it's a good thing they are looked at more like a real potential tool.
