Any thoughts on the fastest way to fruit woodlovers from spores. Hoping to make some new strains of ovoids by crossing the varieties I have collected

At this point, just a few seconds, maybe a minute. This came up somewhere early this month, so i left a plate open in my SAB, directly in line with and directly under the arm hole and proceeded to walk around the room/in front of the SAB, making sure to stir up the air with brisk walking. With it open and me walking around for 3-5 minutes (definitely more than 3 minutes, probably not more than 5 minutes, but i didn't time it), a single small colony appeared on the plate. Ran the test on Nov 1, as of today, still only one colony exists. I'm confident that if it wasn't butted up to the front of the SAB, it'd've been fine.

looks super soft, that helps too, mine was stiff af, I should try another experiment with different media and different stiffnesses, add that one to the mental list.
and as far s woodlovrs go
pretty much what quirk said but I'd go from agar to a pint of grain then to a pasteurized (or fermented) sawdust and chip mix in a bag or tote, better jump off from grains than LI IME. never tried fruiting woodlovers inside always made outdoor patches.

Yeah I've grown them outdoors with wbs I'm hoping to find a faster way than waiting for mother nature. gonna be hard to see f3 and f4 crosses if I gotta wait a year for each fruiting

ovoids can be fruited inside more easily that others IIRC, I've only fruited allenii and cyans myself though.

I've been having some trouble with the last few batches of LC wondering what is up and maybe somoe has had a similar experience to chime in with.
I've redone the last two batches because they keep coming out of the pc very clear (and not darkened like malt usually does during pcing) except they have a lot of sediment. I don't know if maybe I am letting the pc get too high of pressure or letting the temp swing too fast or something but I'm stumped.
I've made a lot of lc with this malt extract but I did recently reup so maybe that is the issue. Although I do believe I made a successful batch since but I'm not 100% on that so I'm going to try to find another source or use the "golden light malt" that I have left from a while ago.
Maybe too much malt? I did switch to a 1g per 250ml of water recipe but I have made a couple successful batches since then that just turn out darker than normal.
shroomery won't let me upload images right now for some reason so as soon as I can I will put up reference pix

I would just use it anyway. I even added rye flour to some LC and it worked fine. Had lots of sediment but the my loved the sediment. It's just gotta be clean.

if its a new type of malt, that could be it tom. I bought a new bag and mine no longer gets dark either unless I overcook it. that does seem like a pretty high ratio tho. mine is on the low side at 0.5gMEA to 500mlh20. been making lots of lc lately

hmmm. I've used the malt extract from this same brew store. over 6 pounds of it without issue but I got a fresh 5 pound bag and maybe they changed their source at the brew store in the time since I bought it last. I'm going to try one more batch and keep them at 15 or 16 psi and no higher. Maybe I'll do half of the new malt extract and half with the old golden malt extract I've had since last year.

ah, no. I don't know if all that happened. I bought another one from a different store that was "extra-light" compared to my other that was "light" it is way lighter after the pc cycle. but when I accidentally set the timer for my lc to bag times the other day it came out dark like the one I had used previously. I don't see a difference in growth so far. did you noc yours up yet?

Looks like two separate phenotypes, set [A] image 1, left side has aggregated (clumped) rhizomorphs, the right side is fully spread. Set [A] image 3, shows the separation between the two types of growth more visibly (thin gaps between both types).
B, C and E look like sections of the rhizomorphic growth transferred, D and F the other type. D and F look like they are producing some kind of colour change (absorption).
The unwound (D, F) growth looks more radial and uniform.

Here is some Azure mycelium on T-Gel, it's has multi-genetics, visibly similar but still separate (not uniform).

Transferring a particular section produced a nearly uniform radial.
