I didn't simmer my popcorn, will it still work?

Hey All,

I got some popcorn in 1 qt jars already innoc. I soaked the pc but not simmer. Will it still colonize or should I start over?

1st how long did you soak. Next how long did you pc your jars.

I soaked them for about 24hrs and pc'd for 70min, cooled then innoc
They look like they don't have a lot of water in them, just a tiny bit on the bottom were the kernels sit -like if u look at the bottom of the jar the only water visible is outling each kernel where it sits on the glass, but not anywhere else.

even if you simmer you'll only see that. The water is held inside the kernals.

I checked one and there is a dime size myc. patch whoohoo!!

Oh, and I am using polyfil filter in lid I removed the foil today.

i can imagine yeah as long as you pressure cook it properly and let it cool for at least three hours,yeah its entirely possible

that water will end up being a problem... the myceliem will not colonize that part very well.

next time...

soak grain for 24 hours.

drain in strainer and let sit for one hour.

then PC in jars.
