Those ones in the foreground of the last pic, by the birch tree, look like they could be Birch Boletes, or another type of bolete. Go check em out, if they have sponge instead of gills then they are a bolete of some kind, if you took some more detailed pics of em we could probably help in a better ID.

By the way I heard that [somewhere in the South Island] there might be some particularly 'interesting' mushrooms growing.

heh yeh. My sister lives over there and she has them growing wild in her garden. She lives right in front of a bunch of pine trees too hmmmm. I might go round there for dinner tomorow.

Ill take some more pics I am really interested to know what they are. I have so many species of mushrooms in our garden they are forever changing.

WOW man you have tons of shrooms in your garden! Those are naturally occuring?

Pick that amanits and put it in your grill on low stem up. Then when its done drink the liquid in the cap. I tried fly agaric and it was ok but i had a tea from dry specimins, I heard if you prepare it as above its more of a positive trip that you just want to dance, go hiking, or go on a walk ect.

Awsome thanks for the replies everyone. I took a few more pictures and stuck them up.

The big ones under the birch treess have spongey stuff instead of gills. So are they birch boletes?
