Psilocybe Cubensis wild in the gulf coast United States Cow shroom in tall grass next to a drainage creek and waterbed with a lot of shade from deciduous trees. Is there a difference in p cubensis and p sub cubensis?
Shrooms about 5 “ tall and 10 grams

The latter has smaller spores. You can't separate them without a microscope, they look the same in the field.
I would think they actually are the same species, and that the name P. cubensis is viable for both. But again there are probably people on this forum with more knowledge and better opinions. Neither of these grow in my part of the world - at least not in the wild.

Thank for your help, because most people just say psilocybe cubensis. I've just seen both used before with pictures.
