Shaking syringes

I happened to get a fortune cookie the size of a softball at dinner tonight. I cracked it open and this is what it read:
"It's been a while since I innoculated jars and I've been wondering if it is reaonable to draw air into the syringe in order to shake free the spores on the side of the syringe. Last time I did it I believe I sucked in a small amount of air right as the needle was still red hot from its sterilization. Would this combat contams? Is it even necessary to have air in the syringe to shake it, or even to shake it (as there are millions of suspended spores)? Any answers would be welcome."
I didn't even get any lucky numbers at the end

drawing in a small bubble of air makes shaking easier, shaking is good

Not much of a risk of contamination from it, right?

Put the tip of the needle in a flame or there is a huge risk of contams.

That's what I was thinking as well, but wouldn't that draw a blast of really hot air into contact with the spores?

Do what Magash said and use the flame to draw in the air or you will definately be sorry! If you dont get contamination from sucking open air into that thing you might as well forget the lottery because all your good luck will be used up! The little bit of air that you suck in isnt enough to heat the water enough to hurt the spore at all.
Good Luck MYKEY

Naw, that water is filled with spores. Just don't heat it up with a cutting tourch and you'll be fine.

Would a standard bic or a gas stove work?
Oh, you said don't. Never mind

Please don't bring up that oven tek bullshit. It doesn't work and any slim chance that a fool got it to work was indeed miraculous.

Open a sterile gauze pad, wrap it around the needle & pull air in through it. That will filter out any crap in the air, you might pull into the syringe.
If you have an ultrasonic cleaner, drop the syringe in a water proof plastic bag & set it in the cleaner for a few minutes. That will disperse the spores in a syringe, like nothing else.
Last but not least.... If you have a vibrating dildo around, clutch it & the spore syringe togather in your hand & turn it on...........LOL
