jars too dry?
    #2629381 - 05/02/04 10:51 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

alf prepared and innoculated his pint-size pf jars 4 days ago and upon checking them today there is absolutely no mycelium development. he is concerned that perhaps, in fear of making the substrate too wet, he may have mixed it a little too dry. if indeed this is the problem, would there be any way our friend alf could fix it?

alf just needs to relax... im sure alf followed the instructions he will be fine. Thought, if alf deviated from these instructions, then no.... there is no way to fix it now.

Im with monk, give them time, sometimes they take longer because of the conditions. From what i undersatdn better too dry then too wet, then just mist them well while there pinning. As mith most cultivation, patience is a vritue. Esspecially around harvest. Happy shroomin!

if you followed standard 2 parts verm, 1 part nutes, 1 part water for your cakes, you should be fine. sometimes spores take their sweet time, depending on age, and general get go of the spores, also, temp might be wrong. get it to about 85F. put in dark place, patience

Patience my friend! They will come around. I have seen them take as long as 10 days to show a thing!

man ,I swear mine took like 2 weeks to show any real sign of colonizing.I was almost to the point of deciding i messed something up and throwing them out,but after that they took off and did real nice.It was my first grow and some learning was going on.It took a little longer but was well worth the wait.I dunked before the first birth, and i know B+ is supposed to produce fat fruits but these are starting to look huge im going to take a pic tomorrow and post.

So long story short, put them in the incubator and forget about them for about a week atleast. You will be surprised at how much they grow when your not watching them all the time as most first timers do myself included.
