Those are Coprinus, close to Coprinus micaceus. Check the surface of the caps with a magnifier to see if there are any tiny mica-like (like glitter) particles. If so, then they are definitely C. micaceus.

C. micaceus is a very common edible species this time of year. Yours are a bit too old to eat. If you are considering eating them, you need to get them while the gills are still pure white.

If they don't have the glitter like particles, there are several similar species of Corpinus that are mostly of unknown edibility.

Happy mushrooming!

Yeah... Those look like the ones I just picked... I'm kinda near you (Ontario)... Anyways, here's the description of them that I was given... Judging by the gills on yours they seem to be the same kind...

ToxicMan said:The mushroom in your photo looks like a species of Coprinus. A few species from that genus are edible, many are mildly poisonous. As a group they are often called Inky Caps because of the tendency of many species to degenerate into inklike slime.

So are they definitly not of Psilocybe Cubensis kind. I found some pics of coprinus micaceus and they don't seem to match the mica flecks.
