Being new here this is a welcoming post.
There is so much to devour and I'm finding with a little bit of patience most of my questions have already been answered years ago.
BUT being that 'new guy' I'm sure I'll ask something silly at some point.

I think my grow thread is a good example of both an annoying newbie asking too many questions, being stubborn and stupid, but also an example of quite a few frustrated and negative voices, who should rather take a vacation than to allow themselves to be overly frustrated.
We are all vastly different when it comes to practical everyday life. This means you cannot expect a standard from all people.
The ideal TC/MOD poster around here is someone like Verum who gets visible frustrated but at the same time doesn't let you go, doesnt truly give you up, there you have real leader and parenting skills. Strength and will to stay in relationships, to not give up others when they are frustrating or hard. Not everyone can be like that, because they lack motivation or they simply are too easily frustrated. But its an ideal I strive towards in my own life.

The big problem with newbie threads is that there's a new one every 6 hours. Inevitably, most of the same questions and scenarios get played out time and time again. As a result, it causes compassion fatigue.
For grows, this site is amazing, but navigating it is kind of a nightmare. That results in newbs posting grow threads more often than really should be necessary. There should be a straight TEK library section where all of current methods that have a supported consensus get posted, no comments are allowed, it's just straight solid info, literature, etc., and only the mods have the power to put that info there. Every decent car/motorcycle/technology forum I've ever participated in was this way.

It's not that bad, but it is easier to make a new thread and get updated answers.
Sure, this question was asked a year ago with 100s of responses, but shit changes... There also might be follow up questions for posters that may not even be around any more.
Some sites have a "noob only" forum for all the countless asked questions.

I would agree with this. Recently I recommended shroomery to a friend as a resource but had to give the caveat that he would have to do a lot of digging to find the info he needs. There are a lot of threads with little golden nuggets of information but it's hard to sift through to find them.

Compassion fatigue is a fine term, but how do you think a teacher in a school feels? We are a bit responsible ourselves for not living our life in a way where it dries out and uses up our morals. Unless you think pain caused to you somehow justifies causing pain to others, and you are allowed to be grinded down to cynicysm, pain and regret

It's not about reducing conversation or questions, it's about decreasing compassion fatigue for the most valued and reliable posters. It increases the quality of the posts all around.

I agree with you 100%, teachers, nurses, police officers (even though I'm no fan), doctors, DMV clerks. You name it, the human psyche can only stand so much bullshit. The Shroomery is no different.
I posted the wiki article to compassion fatigue above.

meaculpaUIO, to be fair, your posts would have fared better in the getting started forum than straight to Cult. If you understand that you need some extra loving attention, Getting Started is the place to get started

I live in both places, as my posting history clearly shows. You dont have to agree with me on anything, Im pitching in my thoughts and they will receive the response they warrant and deserve. As far as I understand, grow logs tied to the user and the mush cult forum is where people post their grow logs, I have one active grow log and several question threads, mostly in the "getting started" forum.
