Autechre is fucking awesome. At first when i listened to them, i put it off as random noise that doesn't make any sense. Then i put in the cd, put on some headphones, and turned the volume high. It's a whole new world. They have extremely intelligent, mathematical beats that express raw human emotion artificially. I'm sure some people can't get to liking them, but if you listen to the songs carefully it's harmonic music. Peace

I'm a big fan. Mathematical is a good way to describe their music. Their earlier releases (like Amber) are more conventional but still great. I love how they can get so much emotion out of something that at first listen sounds very cold and artificial.
If you haven't seen it, you should try to get hold of the video to Gantz Graff.
It's a group of two btw.

LP5 and Tri Repeatae++ are by far my favorites. "Rae" happens to be my fav AE song, just the flow of beats and the slowing down to half time is fucking brilliant.
I need to analyze them more, there's so much more detail than what's on the surface, sorta like Aphex, but in a different style.

So far i have Tri Repetae++, Incunabula, and Draft 7.30. I recommend them all. Listen the the song Glitch (not sure which cd it's from) very carefully and every time you listen to it, it get's better.

glitch is on amber.. you should get confield - probably their most twisted, abstract, fucked-up album; not something that you wanna listen to everyday

Hell yes. Somewhere along the line I found that Autechre is the perfect complement to the DXM experience. Especially Tri Repetae and Incunabula. It's amazing how even though it's somewhat cold, ambient, electronic machine music, it makes me feel so mortal. It's very impersonal music but also very visceral. Maybe that's just the DXM...

I just bought a new autechre cd today, EP7. Haven't even listened to it yet. I still have to buy Amber, Chiastic Slide, Confield, and possibly others. They're so damn good once you get comfortable with their stuff. Peace

Yes, that'd be great. I'm getting my cable internet hooked up shortly. I need Amber, Chiastic Slide, Confield, and LP5 (or EP5?). I don't need it right now, but very soon if it can be arranged. I absolutely loved EP7 btw. Peace

Why? It's this kind of shit that gives file sharing a bad name. If you bought all their albums, why would you want to allow others to just have them all for free. Or did you not buy their albums? Are you one of those people who downloads all their music? If so, nice to meet you, thief! Doesn't mean you should, just because you can. SUPPORT THE FUCKING ARTISTS PEOPLE. If you like an artist, BUY their music, FROM THEM directly if possible. If you're going to download music, download music from bands who are already filthy rich. Although I don't see why you would want to download shitty music.

Well first off, i planned on buying their albums still after downloading it. You ever heard the saying don't 'assume' because it makes an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'...perfect example...

Autechre definitely compliments the DXM experience.
My favorites are "C Pach", "Clipper", "Bike", and "Eggshell".

My favorite cd from autechre is confield. Eggshell is an amazing song. I was wondering if anybody can help me identify what exactly is on the EP7 album booklet. Several pages of 2d lines, anybody wanna take a stab at it?
