I remember trying to get Obama care when I was broke as shit and the cheapest plan I could find was $180 monthly for the shittiest healthcare ever. My income at the time was like literally $0 haha. I felt like a clown for getting my hopes up at the time and it changed my perspective of the Democratic Party a bit (I hadn't really been aware of the double standards and hypocrisy from the democratic side, I was used to being from the south where everything was already fucked and super conservative)
Well Joe has been a big disappointment but honestly I guess I was expecting this so I'm not technically disappointed? Lol I'm just with Bod on this one, it's obvious it's another president just keeping the status quo (or making it slightly worse while trying to pretend it's getting better). The whole selling weapons to Israel, not forgiving student loan debt, nothing noteworthy regarding immigration, nothing done to prevent the dozens of spree shooters we have every year fucking up our cities, taking care of the marginalized and fucked up communities like in Chicago for example, etc... I'm not expecting any president to change things here quickly but I do expect them to at least take action.
Who knows how things will look 3/4 years from now when it's election time again.

Well I wonder what the heck happened then haha. I put forth a serious effort to get it too. Makes me wonder why what I was quoted for the minimum healthcare was so costly

My state has changed leadership and accessibility to state healthcare is now an option for me and other poor, non-disabled people thank god. But yeah exactly right Chief. My state at the time was all about "no free handouts" to poor people who can still work a job. Issue is the main industries out here often don't like to insure people so it makes it hard to get by. I couldnt get state healthcare at the time

Yikes, didn't realize pro-lifers partake in anything really awful besides the dead fetus signs they hold up in front of planned parenthood on abortion day, I figured they were referring more to pro-choice people since it was right under the "environmental extremist" label

I think the most famous case was Dr. George Tiller, who got shot in the face while at church back around 2010. He'd been shot before in the 90s, but survived the first time. The lady that shot him the first time was basically canonized as a saint in the pro-life movement.
TL:DR, pro-lifers are fucking nuts, man. They'll walk into a church and shoot you in the face in front of your family. They don't give a fuck.
Wow, thank you for the info. Had no idea about Dr. Tiller. Tragic story. I have been a bit naive to the extreme lengths people (christians, conservatives, etc) go to try and prevent abortions. It makes sense but I guess I had higher expectations from the pro-lifer crowd.

All ideologies are great in theory but the issue is always putting it into practice. You know, like the people in charge deciding to discriminate or bend the rules for their own interests.
The whole "now that we have achieved social revolution let's smash those who I dont agree with" is a theme with socialism, communism, etc
I wish I had more faith in socialism but humans are humans and politics always fall short of the dreams we have of them

The Ecstatic said: “Communism is great in theory but doesn’t work in practice”
What a fresh, compelling take. I’d never considered that Stalin strangled eleventy billion people by hand, clearly an oversight of how market forces work in the real world.
I'm not one for how democracies/capitalism have played out either but my point is that the actual system itself is only a small part of the problem. If someone has the power they can take any system and completely fuck it up, doesn't matter what. And political ideologies that can easily be skewed into an "us vs. them" thing scares me. Tolerance is such an important part of a stable society.
It reminds me of the militant groups of buddhists who are violent towards other groups of buddhists. Like, that religion is designed to keep people from violence and yet here we are with buddhists who kill people in the name of....who knows what.
Joe Biden is clearly all about keeping business as usual, with wealth discrepancies and unfair education opportunities and teen suicides as prevalent as ever!

Where I grew up its standard practice to join the military at 18 and immediately get a Mustang....and then PTSD and a load of other issues shortly after. Military ads looking like video games. It's all a big sick joke, with life being the price to potentially play for paying.

Think about it, if Biden couldn't get us out cleanly by September...you think Trump was going to get us out by May 1st???
Because that's the deal he signed May FUCKING 1st...let that sink in.
After watching the clusterfuck that was the Trump presidency, you are telling me you think he was going to do this more cleanly...and by May 1st?? Don't know why I am ever surprised by how delusional the MAGA crowd is.
And I am sure it would have gone over real well with the Taliban when Trump tried to re-neg on his own on deal...it's one thing when Biden had to ask for more time, he didn't make the deal, but for Trump to break the deal he just signed with the Taliban...I'm sure they would have looooooved that.
🙄🙄 trump would of gotten the job done
Trump as president said "okay Taliban u guys can have afghanistan now, we will leave". What good leader makes deals with terrorists lol? Sounds like a guy I want to have have running the country!
Now hes saying if he had it his way he would blow their country up and let them rot. What a great leader and role model.
The war stopped making sense basically the day it started. It never has been about giving freedom to Afghan people so leaving shouldn't seem too crazy to everyone.

Last time the taliban were in charge music was banned lol. Women treated like animals. You, OOMM, would have been killed for your sexuality, probably stoned to death. If you stole youd get your hand chopped off. Killed for being blasphemous towards god. All under the guise of Sharia Law. Do you not see how backwards that shit is?

Trump's got a forceful personality which likely helps him quickly impress new people that he meets.
Donald has always had a fun, relaxed, & sometimes silly side to his personality. Many people hate him for that. He generally is a calm fellow - until someone is an ass to him, and then he dishes it back. I didn't vote for the man, but I sure enjoyed his press conferences. They were more fun than watching a highly paid comedian like Stephen Colbert, who has a team of writers to help him try to be funny.
Biden voters pretend they want him to go away, and then constantly talk about him!
America's appetite for Donald Trump appears insatiable. How did he get so much power?
yeah, he sure is silly.
