I like how most plants flower once a year. They look all plain and boring, sometimes they even look evil like rose bushes, and then suddenly in spring or summer or autumn BOOM they've got all these beautiful flowers or blossoms showing on em. People are sort of like that too. I think most people flower once in their lifetime. It may be for a couple years or it may be for like ten years. Whatever it is, being brave, being loving, making amends, and then it's done and the flowers can wilt but it's ok cause the flowers were showing and whoever was paying attention saw them and understands.

Flowers are another sad reminder for me that we evolved from nothing.

The plant produces a sweet colorful flower to attract insects. The insects spread pollen from flower to flower allowing reproduction.

I was in the forests the other day and I was looking at locust trees. I was like "whoa, the tree grows thorns to protect itself."

I like that analgoy and it does fit many people, but I also feel that there are special few individuals that once they blossom, they remain in this beautiful state of mind for the rest of their lives, somehow changed forever. And speaking of flowers, I'm patiently waiting for my little cactus plants to blossom

Yeah, I guess you're right munky. Some people do keep it once they get it. I haven't met many people like that myself though. I like your little red hat by the way. Cacti are cool.

Peace. :mushroom2:

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you

One fall flower standing alone by the lake,
Waving in the wind and no way to propagate.
Such beauty to be found in solitaire seclusion,
Or is it my mind?s confused state of illusion?

?Tis a gorgeous flower ? six golden petals of yellow,
Standing on endless hour?and never failing to say hello
To those who would venture here,
This wayside place of solitaire.

I feel the hurt and see despair
For the fading flower?s disrepair.
But I can?t reach the flower there
Among the winds of the autumn air.

My mind half taken from the strength of the wine
On Sunday morning?s depression of a Saturday night?s climb.
I sit in my villa and watch the flower still,
Staggering in the winds and slowly losing will.

And I understand at last? how the flower came to be,
A solitaire illusion, retarded seclusion ? both in parity.
But the flower is real as it stands in grace,
Alone and bruised by this wayside place.

Would someone please stop before the autumn leaves,
And pay a simple visit to the flower and me.
For just a little while ? before seasons set us free,
Visit with us both ? for I am the flower you see.

Harry Bernard Graham

As the life of a candle,
my wick will burn out.
But, the fire of my mind
shall beam into infinite.
