The Best Ayahusca Retreat in Peru ?
    #26266684 - 10/21/19 06:37 AM (4 years, 3 months ago)

been interested for years already and now that im in peru...

Im researching the best place to have an authentic experience with good shamans.

i did ayahusca before in a ceremony in the netherlands, it was nice.

otehrwise did a mid dose of shrooms, some san pedro , edibles,... in the past and been reading about psychedelics for years.

I know approximate what to expect, mindset,...

some sources say the most authentic ayahuasca experiences for foreigners are held deep in the jungle and NOT in the andes mountains with the little colorful people, since
they are more specialized in san pedro and coca leaf chewing.

can anyone here recommend a place?

the first hits on google show places that all claim they are the best, most popular and charge 1000s of dollars... does not have a good impression on me...

or... would you not recommend to do it there at all and stay with your people and just make another group in europe?

Authentic? Well they are human in a kitchen. Try that.

  Good luck with that endeavor.

there are retreats lead by young white teenagers that got a 4 day 'ayahuasca shaman' education on craigslist.

that is not authentic , what im looking for is real shamans with experience.

Yeah, but who decides on whom is a real shaman? Are you the ultimate authority on this?

You are looking for a ceremony not an experience. There's nothing they do in Peru that you couldn't do at home.

No method, no teacher no guru. That's how they learned. Luckily we don't have to go through the rigorous experimentation. But seriously the indigenous people from the area, hold no key to the box. The box is open to the public. Always has been.

I read about that. thats why I get weird vibes if I see them charge 1000s of dollars...

but thats the usual way in south america, seeing whiteys as walking cash machines.

ayahuasca ceremonies got very popular the past years, strange to not see any recommendations yet...

I don't know if you will. Most people would just do it at home. It's cheaper by a lot. You can spend about 200 for your complete set up including ingredients.

Shroomery users aren't generally the type to go to these kinds of things...

There are some users who are in with the real deal, but that's different from the kinds of retreats you can find on google

Its not easy to get in with the truly "authentic" - they aren't looking for a bunch of random outsiders to join their ceremonies.

i had similar thoughts... i mean as close authentic experience that is available as a foreigner white face.

many google ayaahusaca ceremnoies seem to be a money grab only.

I can easily get mimosa and rue and all equipment, even made my own brew in the past BUT dont you think a ceremony has something special about it?

There certainly is something special about the general practice of ceremony and ritual.

Personally, what is special about ritual would be largely if not entirely discounted by paying large amounts of money to go on what is essentially a vacation retreat.

I truly believe you're better off drinking the brew with a shaman that actually speaks English lol. Try not to get into the hocus pocus.
