Going to Case 2 full pint cakes - dunk before breaking up?

So I started a whole bunch of pf cakes about 2 months ago. Im on my third flush for my half pints and had great sucess. I have 2 full pints (maybe even bigger) that I inocculated with the 1/2 pints. I have decided to case these as my first casing. They are just reaching 97% colonized (boy have they taken long). I figure they must be very dried out by now. Dont worry they are not contamed just going very slowly since each of those jars only began colonizing in 1 place each.

So here is the question. Do you think I could dunk these cakes, then crush them up in bags after a good h20, h202 dunk? Have you ever done this before, or should I just break them up right away and not dunk them as Im sure the casing layer would provide some of the moisture they need.

I am also going to use a mixture of coir/verm as casing layer.
