What is the definitive spore print color? If it is JET BLACK I don’t think it’s a psathyrella...

Many Psathyrella species have jet black spores.

I would pay more attention to cheilocystidia shape to separate Psathyrella from Panaeolus.

Quite a few people on MO seem to think Psathyrella. Alan, I am in contact with Django to do some further analysis. If youd be interested as well I'd be more than happy to send you a few specimens... I'm still trying to learn how to investigate further than the simple eye test of a fungus myself.

I would love to as well. However, I'd say I'm a highly educated FINDER of mushrooms and still yet to hone down my identification and growing skills 😂. Any knowledge from you guys helps.

I apologize for my careless remark.. I guess I was thinking more macroscopically looking plus black spores is probably a Pan species? Thanks for the reminder that there are other black spored mushrooms out there. Still a noob but eager to learn and share.

So do you guys think it’s a P fimicola then?

Wow, holy crap.. I havent been on here the longest but I'm kinda feeling right now... it's just such an incredible hobby and often times I find myself wanting to learn more on here, in contact with you all as opposed to watching a youtube video or sitting online for hours (although that part is vital too)
