Objects at rest
    #2626173 - 05/01/04 03:41 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

Objects at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion.

Ever notice how sometimes you just need to put forth enough effort to overcome your coefficient of friction and GET YOUR BALL ROLLING?

All sorts of things pick up momentum. Money, fitness, intelligence, happiness!

Ed!

"Ever notice how sometimes you just need to put forth enough effort to overcome your coefficient of friction and GET YOUR BALL ROLLING?"

Good motivational stuff!

Never thought of couch potatoes as having coefficient friction before. Thats funny!

Love,
Cindy

Yep!

I notice that a lot of people, when things aren't moving for them, start to get negative and start to get down that it isn't going... it takes a lot of energy to feed those negative emotions and it is quite counter productive!

Great post, SpecialEd.

You've just given us a great model for change in any area of life.
As above, so below.

Take a boat that is dead in the water. The boat could represent almost anything. Let's say it represents your emotions. You're dead in the water. You are in the doldrums? Since you allowed yourself to come to a halt it will now take a *tremendous* amount of energy to change course. Not only do you have to get the boat moving again, you have to change its direction. That's why it is so important to keep moving in life.

Fireworks god, that is also a good point. Even though ones trend is upwards, there are still temporary downswings while energy is regrouping and recentering before another upwards push. It is important during such a time to step back and charge forward again only after you have regained your energy and conditions are more favorable.

Yes, but we must never fall victim to the thought that we do not have the energy at the present moment to get things in motion.
