 APE pinning mostly on the sides, Even when using a casing.

I have an APE tub, I used franks 50/50 casing tek. Any idea why it would have more pins at the edges of the tub? They are still on the top but just closer to the edge of the substrate. I used around 2qts casing. Surface seems hydrated, but definitely not overhydrated.
I prepared the casing a little on the dry side also as last time It was too wet.

If your surface conditions aren't right, you'll get pins on the sides.

there are definitely some pins on the middle area, just seem to be more on the edge.

its definitely moist enough, moisture built up on the tub. probably not enough FAE?

I have never heard of side pins being caused by FAE problems?

Who said it's a problem? Fresh air exchange causes evaporation, if fresh air exchange is limited to certain parts of the substrate those parts will more then likely produce mushrooms first.
Fresh air exchange is almost always key to dialing in conditions

But if there is a better microclimate on the bottom/side, how would FAE fix that?

His are pinning on the edge more then the middle it's not about side pins.
For side pins the answer is the same though, get fresh air exchange to cause evaporation on the surface, this is your key pinning trigger

Mycopiss,
Can you post pics of your tub(s)?
Guessing there is small holes close to the top of the sub depth and that is why the outer perimeter of the sub is pinning as FAE is not pushing across the whole sub?
