Fruiting conditions = colonizing conditions?

Doing some research for a friend who is growing, I came across an old post written by Bod mentioning that there is no reason to separate fruiting vs colonizing stages. He mentioned that he actually had quicker colonization when moving to "fruiting conditions" immediately. Has anyone tried this before? What were your results? I see a lot of back and forth on this one, but I trust Bod's opinion as a super experienced cultivator.

Yes most of us do spawn to fruit and most of us have great results there are people who still like to colonize then fruit and you will get a better flush but I dont think more to compensate the time.. you will get a flush in about 2 weeks rather then over 3 weeks or 4

Id be surprised if there isnt already a post somewhere where someone had 2 tubs side by side one of each method then compared them.

I agree with bod, when I first tried growing mushrooms everyone thought it was best to keep your spawn and colonising bulk in the dark then give it light and more air to encourage fruiting. Now I think the sudden change of conditions means the myc has to adapt and stresses it out more. Now I have lights on all stages of growth and mostly just do set and forget boxes so they have the same conditions throughout and I think the myc is happier now.

Yes read fruiting at spawning. Nothing new. Ideally you wanna harvest 12-15 days after spawning. Or less depending on variety.

For cubes with most of our set ups it's more then fine. I avoid it when using trays in a sgfc or anything with lots of fae as I lose too much moisture before fruiting

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn I'm tired do me a favor
