Fan Filter Unit voltage help needed.

As most FFU posts I've read through start with "im in over my head" I am in fact over my head. So earlier last year I built a standard 24"x24" flow hood. I was hooked from then on. Shortly after I realized I wanted larger, so what do I do? I look at surplus auctions and eBay for lab deals. Quickly I come across FFU's. I found a "deal" on a Evirco 2'x4' unit, new for 200$ so I jumped. I jumped while knowing it was 277v @ 60hz and 1.6 amps. And while knowing my home is about 120v and 60hz. Yikes. So like always I start digging through posts here and found some good info but im still needing help. I read a reply on a post stating to simply get a step up transformer from 120 to 277. I've found one here https://www.shineretrofits.com/120v-to-277v-step-up-lighting-auto-transformer-500va-rating-1121-1001-nd.html It states it's for lighting and since 277 is one leg off of 480 used for lighting im wondering if this will work, and work safely. Or what my other options would be. Evirco does offer units with 120v motors so I have reached out to them about purchasing one but no response yet. Does anyone know what kind of motors they use? Any guidance is appreciated!

In many instances an electric motor is ready to be connected to either 110 or 220 volt
A photo of the electric schematic diagram would help and if readily accessible a photo of the connections inside the wiring cover of the motor.

you will be fine with the transformer just make sure you fuse it correctly. the transformer you have listed is good for 1.8amps at 277 so as long as the fla of the motor is 1.6 at 177 like you said it will work. it will draw about 4 amps off your panel

I appreciate both of your replies. As for the schematic the best I could find is here https://imgur.com/a/7CDr6bl Hopefully that helps.

yep so the black is the power line that will have 277 white will be neutral and green is the ground i would assume the first pic is how you will wire it up to get full speed all the time

So that's how you read it.
I wonder what the 'Blue' is for.

Middle speed black or red are high or low
If you have 480 three phase coming in and take a single phase tape off of it you get 277v
480/√3=277
That's where that weird voltage comes from

Just want to let everyone know it's performing flawlessly. 90FPM on low 120FPM on medium and 150FPM on high across the filter face. Consistent flow across the entire filter verified with anemometer. Laminar flow has been achieved, thank you all for your help!
