oh great a bunch of baseless claims with no citations for evidence, and in the wrong thread... oats are the shit, and if any noob sees this as long as you prep them right (dry as hell) they are great, maybe the best.

sorry I wasn't trying to start an argument just speaking from personal experience trying to help people. Not bashing you if you use them, they just gave me trouble personally.

They are pretty tomentose and uneven, but the could be from the agar recipe.

And cron, i know that was totally baseless :rofl2: but at least my claim was to their utility rather than a false one of innate bacterial infestation. Are oats actually more prone to, or initially containing more, bacterial contamination?

Is there anything wrong with tormentose and uneven? If it’s not due to the agar recipe, what could it be due to?

Not sure how long you've been growing, but based on your reg date and going purely
off that, I'd say 3 months is hardly enough experience to speak about oats being the best grain. WBS is far superior to oats in every way but price.

Oats are great til they burn you bad. I loved oats when I started using them, now
I'll never use them again unless they are the last available whole cereal grain in existence.

Okay youre probably right. I always like the look and performance of my millet jars more i guess, but what about the oats caused whatever problem your speaking of? I do believe you, and have seen other say this, but have never got a clear answer on why it was the oats fault.

I love to hate oats. :oldman:

Moldy

The dirt in the tub is just from this week. I'm almost at the end of two 50 lb bags of Producers Pride oats. Pretty dirty stuff.
And it's not even from rinsing. It accumulated just from pouring the oats onto the screen to dry.
Just a FYI or for some kind of reference:shrug:
