This is the cake that did not require any special treatment, just birthed it in the terrarium and waited. Image 1 Image 2 Image 3 Image 4 Image 5 *UPDATE* ------------------------- Here is a picture of a few drying GT's Let me know what you think! Ps. Is there a way to delete the pictures I have uploaded previously?

Is that all vermiculite in the bottom of the bucket?

yes, it's what I had on hand at the time. I would still suggest using perlite, but vermaculite worked fine for me. That is just a small white bucket inside of another bucket. The outer bucket is filled with water, and the small bucket with the cake in it is floating on the water in the larger bucket. The larger bucket also has a fish tank bubbler running at all times. The RH in my setup stayed at about 88% - 90% the whole time.

Good job on the cake.
I'd use perlite next time but if it got the job done I guess I can't knock it can I?

I wish you luck with your golden teachers as someone I know is waiting on 5 casings of the same right now. However, instead of cakes it is popcorn spawned to many pounds of horse poo in monster tubs. Enjoy!

Thanks for the props ya'll, I have picked a couple of them already, one wasn't quite ready but it came off with the other one. I guess after this flush is done i'll just have to dunk and roll it. Should I roll the whole cake in verm? or just put a lil on the top?

There also seems to be quite a bit of aborts on my cake, small pins with very dark caps and lots of fluffy mycelium growing on them as well, should these just be picked and dried? Are the results worth it if there are enough pins? I mean after all there is *MaGiC* in them.
