My hampster places cakes and cased trays in the refer for a couple of hours. Works for him. Others I have heard swear by placing in refer overnight. Experiment and find what works for you.

The temp change isn't the only factor that will trigger pinning.

Cold shock may be accomplished with an empty 2 liter jug. Fill it with water, freeze it, then place it in your grow chamber overnight.
