 Help me with unmodified monotub moisture and humidity please

Hey everyone, hope you're all well today. I have questions about my unmodified monotub setup if I may bother you for knowledge. Also note the tub contains balance of coco coir, gypsum and vermiculite
First, when looking through the tub I can see water droplets surrounding the entire substrate. but it seems like the sides of the substrate is more wet than the surface. Also there seems to be some mycelium piss around the corners of the substrate.
I'm all 'ears'. I am just a bit confused with the humidity in the chamber. This is all quite new to me. the humidity of the room is 50-60% and i mist the sides when it seems like its drying up.
To clarify, there is moisture dripping down the sides and lid as well.
Spawn to bulk three days ago. 12/12 light schedule, lid open half an inch during the day only. Any advice would be great, pro-tips, links to articles, etc. Thank you.

That issue is a result of your substrate being over field capacity. The pooling water is a result of oversaturated substrate. Can you post a picture?

That ain't bad, just dab up pools of water with a paper towel, you won't hurt the grow by doing that. Yellow liquid are metabolites, nothing necessarily bad.

Ok will do! just a little worried about side pinning as well because the sides look more wet than the surface, hence the pooling of water around the sides/corners.

There is such a thing as over misting. If it doesn't look DRY do not mist.
There is nothing to do now, just watch it and start more projects if you have more time to kill.

Yeah dont worry about sidepins right now, just let it do its thing and make mental notes as it grows about what you observe. Just because theres moisture along the side of the substrate doesnt mean it's going to side pin

seems like im getting some of the mycelium is turning yellow, looks kinda dry too. could it be contams or just due to drying out?

Hmm, that looks a little dry to me. But the yellowing, and the extent of it, has me a little sketched out. I’d recommend misting it to try to get some more moisture. But...depending on what others say that sub may be toast due to contamination.

Yeah it seems like its drying out, im going to mist it then. hopefully its not contams, the yellowing is only happening at the corners of the cake. the middle is all white. Any extra advice or tips are welcome!

The yellow is from your surface drying out

That's not a huge deal - you'll still get shrooms! It also verifies that your surface was too dry.

thats relieving to hear haha. Since the top substrate is too dry how could i encourage top pinning? right now i just heavily misted the top and trying a wax paper on top to see if that'll work. anyone have experience with this casing method and if it works?

Every tub I've made for a long time has been cased at spawning, no brainier for surface condition buffer.
Few handfuls of left over bucket tekd coir/verm will do well to act as a buffer even under poor conditions.
Throw the wax paper away.

Sad news Saturdays but i just found and killed what seems to be fungus gnats this morning. there were about 9 of them and will keep an eye out for more throughout the day. This is first grow so i have no experience with what this pesky bug can/will do to my sub and fruits. Have they laid eggs? Will they cause any problems in my sub? will i be able to eat my shrooms safely when they mature?
