Is it possible to stall yur project to death at any point during the growing process? Particularly germination and colonization.

I was sent a legendary contaminated jar... it had stalled due to bacterial contamination, a micron magic filter and a ring were all that sealed the jar, I left the jar on the waterheater for a period of 3 months and discovered a patch of black mold and another of green mold growing... I allowed the jar 3 more months and checked again and there were several fruits growing over the next 3 months it continued to produce mushrooms....

just to give you an idea of the abuse that mycelium can take... fruit them 1 week after the are completely colonized or when the are 100% and pinning

dunno if I'd want to eat fruits grown off a contaminated cake man. What's the point anyway?

well if the pins grew that must mean the mushroom fought off the contams and is therefore good to eat. and the point is the same for eating contam free mushrooms to enlighten your mind

No, it is not possible as far as my dear friends experience has been. He has left jars for over a year, and then fruited them pf style, and even spawned compost and straw with year old jars. Mycelium is not very fragile after it has the stronghold as the above posts have mentioned.

the point it, if you have a proper water ratio you can go a long time without worrying about it... that one was incubated through about 5 flushes, a large open filter area that allowed for more evaporation... mycelium is pretty damned tough, it can take a great deal of punishment before its dead....
