Not sure.. but even though some rain is good the last one brought quite a coldfront... needs to warm up a bit still, atleast before going all the way down there.

I live in Houston and I've been having some "1 sandwich bag luck" on my recent trips, but to answer your question, I've lived in both cities and Houston is the best place I've ever hunted. Let it warm up a little, theres plenty of productive fields around all of our suburbs. Time your trip to H-Town just right and you'll get bags full!

I'm hanging out near there now. Don't waste a month by waiting a month. Just wait for the weather. Though I'm kinda going out again anyway. With this cold the last 2 nights the yeilds will be mush lower than in ideal weather.

Yes their is a good site for checking weather conditions for most places in the U.S.

http://contests.wcco.com/

At the bottom of the page it has all the states.

Im into astronomy, so keeping a close eye on the weather has become a secondary hobby. :smirk:

Why don't you take a ride through King's Ranch.... wide open beef cattle... after a few days of rain/shine alternatively... they should fill the ranch. *KING'S RANCH is hundreds of square miles of cattle grazing land in south texas, west of Padre' Island but not so far as Laredo.

Anyway, I'm sure photographing specimens would be a worthwhile trip.
