I want strong opinions.
I think she's a shill.
-------------------- Something there is mysteriously formed, Existing before Heaven and Earth, Silent, still, standing alone, unchanging, All-pervading, unfailing, I do not know its name; I call it tao. If forced to give it a name, I call it Great (ta). Being great, it flows out; Flowing out means far-reaching; Being far-reaching, it is said to return. It's just a shot away..

She has a very punchable face

I don't really agree with her view of things verbatim, and kind of cringe at the structured compartmentalization of all those passionate one liners because it's not quite natural to have that much energy outside of brief moments of spontaneity without knowing a thing or two about acting.
But, as long as insecure people are visibly threatened by a passionate teenager, she will remain popular in the face of that. So right on to her I suppose.

You see a young girl with aspergers and want to punch her?
This thread is going in a scholarly direction

Keep in mind that public speaking can be terrifying and difficult as hell to do, and people with aspergers often don't fit into the normal social flow to begin with.
The backlash is hilarious. It's crazy how so many people think that if we deny the truth and silence those who speak it, everything will somehow be okay..

She is one of the last hopes for humanity and its a crying shame it takes a teen to have to remind the grownups to take their heads out of their asses.
She should incite kids the world over to hide all their school books and protest until concessions are made to meet climate goals.
She should spearhead a gilets jaunes/yellow vests type movement of environmentally concerned kids.

Shes too young to be a shill. This is a blend of what she feels and what shes told.
Shes an asperger. she has neural conections that we need to take a ton of shrooms for, sober.
Cut her some slack Jack.
She makes a lot more sense than the in charge.

I said she has a punchable face. I did not say I want to punch her in the face.
Maybe we need her more than I think

That girl who made a speech in 1992 made a shockingly similar speech as she did. Things like that make me think she's a shill. Let's not forget that she takes pictures with people wearing antifa t-shirts

Never heard of her before yesterday and I haven't really looked into the matter. From the sounds of it though, she is poised to become this generation's Craig Kielburger.

When I heard her speech I thought "Nordic people and speeching" I think she has the capacity to make emotional, compelling speeches that can make changes in the world.
I mean it, I hope she'll spearhead a movement of kids fed up with us fucking everything up for them - which is what we are doing.
The Hippies were right in the 60s and the old people fought it and today Greta and her ilk are right and we old people fight it. Well not all of us cause I and many others got her back in this. Onwards righteous crusaders, the future depends on you!

So you are basically biased because she talks with a Nordic accent?
If she was pushing population control then I would be on board.
Climate change without the population control is moot.

You're missing it. I'm just saying shes a persuasive speaker who really twangs the heartstrings, though in her case not in a bad way.

So you want a bullet in your head? Any humane method of population control is far too gradual to do anything impactful to slow climate change. A rapid population control plan means that people without power are either killed or enslaved.
Investing actual time and money into technology and infrastructure that allows us to live more sustainably is the only way to afford us the time to effectively and sanely deal with overpopulation, or create new technology to live sustainably with the population as is. It will take a mobilization larger than war-time ones we've had in the past. In the worst case scenario it may even require war to ensure compliance by certain other countries. I don't know if it'd work, but the longer we wait the more impossible it all gets.

No I want laws to be made that woman can only have 1 or two kids.
A bullet in the head 😂
That's extreme just like blowing up the world to solve global warming. That was a horrible argument

You do realize how long that would take, and that it would have basically no noticeable effects on any of the factors destroying our planet for centuries?

You know if every woman on the planet was limited to one child, in 50-75 years the planets population will decrease by 40%
But I guess you can't think rationally
