Shrooms to help with outlook on a situation?
    #26191987 -

I'm a middle-aged woman who has been happily married for 20 years.

Aside from occasionally smoking a joint, I've never indulged in any other drugs.

Without going into a long sappy story of my life, lets just say I experienced something traumatic 20 years ago, that I'm sure a good therapist would diagnose me with a form of ptsd.

I occasionally have nightmares and I do have a script for a very low-dose valium for the rare nights where I have a middle-of-a-dead-sleep panic attack.  This is maybe 8 times a year - not often, but pretty intense when it happens.

There are other issues that bubble under my surface, that I keep well hidden from everyone, including my husband, who I trust implicitly.  It is something unresolved, and honestly, I don't think it can ever be resolved, because it involves a family member of his who he hasn't spoken to in 20 years - and this keeps me from ever being able to speak to that person as well -- and having a long, overdue conversation.  But, it's there, just under my surface and bubbles up when I'm not in my right mind (3 martinis can bring it up, and I have to fight hard to stuff it back down).

So, that's the short version.

My question - will schrooms help to change my outlook on a situation?  I've read a lot that it can "reset" sad pathways and allow you to see things in a different light.  That would be a miracle for me.  Obviously I don't expect it to change my life, but just maybe make the burden a bit lighter.

The one person in this world who I would trust to be my "trip sitter" would be my husband.  Unfortunately, I fear that the issue sitting under my surface will bubble up, and I will start saying things need to be left unsaid, at least with him.  There is nothing that he doesn't know, but I fear saying something that would ultimately hurt him in the process.

These things are unpredictable, but can certainly be immensely healing.

Here's a technique I used that may work for you. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25519094

IMO when dealing with trauma, it's best to start small. A big dose may be just what you need, but it could also send you to hell and re-traumatize you.

Hope all goes well for you :sun:
