Will all grows eventually become contaminated?
    #26190618 -

Hi there,

I am a new grower and first and foremost I would like to thank the community for all the help they have provided me even though some of my questions have been read hundreds of times by veteran growers.

This is my first grow, using BRF/Verm and following Bod's East AF tek.

I had success with my jars and got lots of healthy fruit.

I have one jar left that I keep misting and it keeps producing new mushrooms. While not as big they keep growing, over a month now.

My question is, what do I need to worry about as far as contamination at this point?

Will my jar eventually stop fruiting as the mycellium dies or do all grows eventually become contaminated if left for long enough?

I have lots of side pinning currently which makes it more difficult to see the mycellium, and I didn't use wide mouth so birthing the cakes without damage will be hard.

Here is a picture of my jar as it sits tonight, with a few good mushrooms already harvested.

I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to respond to my questions, it really helps me as someone who is new to the hobby and overly paranoid of contamination.

Cheers,

J

Nice shrooms

Eventually things will contaminate. The substrate will become exhausted, shrooms will stop growing and mold will take over.

Nothing to worry about or become paranoid over though. Keep watering them until they stop growing and mold appears and then chuck them out.

Yes all things wither dehydrate and mummify too dry for growth or mold from moisture.
Even you.

They are B+. The caps seem to be breaking the veil much slower then at the beginning of the grow. Thanks for the help guys.
