Lsd degradation

My friend kept lsd in car for few weeks.  Weather was nice and sunny,  so the temperature in car was high... I'm guessing that lsd has degraded and wont work?

I know the best thing is to try it and see  if it will work or not, but I'm very time limited and dont want to waste my day off on bunk lsd.. so I'm considering getting new acid and maybe keeping this one for microdosing,  or taking it first, wait an hour to see if there is any effect and if not take a fresh hit?

This.

People use to think it degrades immediately when exposed to some degrees above roomtemp. It doesn't.

A buddy of mine had some hits in tinfoil only in his jacket breastpocket, forgot about them and did wear this jacket all summer long. A very hot summer (last year).
He found those hits a full year later and we took them and they were just as potent as the year before. :thumbup:

Thanks guys, I was trying to find more accurate information about lsd degradation online and most of its said that high temperatures will have affect on lsd potency.
In this case we will try them and keep fresh ones on side, just in case.

I’m Curious about this too. Lots of conflicting anecdotes out there. I’ve heard stories of people stumbling across decade old blotter stored in books they forgot about that was still good. I’ve heard other stories where blotter was bunk after the same time period and under similar conditions. Why the difference? What factors—oxygen, heat, etc—were in play, and how were they different in these different cases?

Either way, it seems to degrade over a timescale of many years if at least some measures are taken to prevent exposure to light and oxygen. Temp seems important too but it seems stable around 70 Fahrenheit or below.

In a nutshell, acid stores longer than dried shrooms.

Heat, uv light(sun), moisture and oxygen will degrade LSD. Based on various levels of each, depending how long it will take. If all factors are minimized, it lasts decades upon decades

The above post is correct.

I cannot advise really, but I would wait longer than one hour. It will likely have degraded from its original potency, but I would be very surprised if it doesn’t still “do the trick.”

Moisture barely degrades LSD, I washed some wow blotters that were in a pocket of synthetic material pants so they don't get that wet (they're made that way to prevent sweating) and they were 90% as potent as when I tried them before.

Oxygen degrades LSD quite readily - but slowly over time.  It turns it into iso-LSD, the inactive isomer.

Heat degrades LSD very, very slowly - but it requires HIGH heats such as 120+ degrees and that will even be slowly.  This also becomes iso-LSD.

sunlight also degrades LSD - by turning it into lumi-LSD, an inactive portion.  Sunlight more then anything will cause its degredation.

Eitherway, I imagine your hits are fine - if anything, 80-90% as strong as they were before.  Practically an un-noticable difference.

I think these myths started to allow folks to sell lower dosed LSD hits and have a "reason" that wasn't them.  Or, LSD is so amazing and precious that those rumors were increased to make sure folks don't ruin such an amazing thing.

Should be fine, I had a 10 strip in my pocket during edc vegas and it was 100+ degrees each day plus dancing around so extra body heat coming off to and the tabs were still perfectly fine :thumbup:

I did the same thing except it was in my car for a good month or so. It was a little weaker than these tabs usually are but definitely still effective.

I've never found it to be an issue. As others have said, I think people overstate how fragile LSD is to the elements, so to speak.

The LSD should be fine.

I believe UV exposure would have more of an effect in degration that a hot car.

Update.  Unfortunately it affected lsd potency.. we took one hit each, waited for over an hour with no much effect, We took second one and waited for a bit. It was v mild so I decided we should split my last blotters that I had at home, we also took pill each and had line of ket later that night. Last blotter that we shared worked and we finally tripped.  So yes, in our case unfortunately it affected the lsd potency. Really good night overall,  we travelled through different music genres and shared our thoughts. For the first time I tried mdma and K on lsd. Great synergy :loveheart:

Not the same ones, but I been getting them from the same guy,tested with Ehrlich, always was good quality. So there is possibility that they were just weak,  or we were unlucky and that heat in car caused some degradation.
