Let me see if I guessed this right about account deletion

Group a) wants to create website. They say "hey what if a person wants to delete an account as to not have information associated with themself on the internet anymore?"

Lawyer b) says to group "uh no for this type of site not letting people delete accounts is better"

group a) "no wait because of post continuity and lack of server data useage associated with information deletion right?"

Lawyer b) says "sure say whatever reason"

group a) "well think about it like this. A persons life is better if they can one day delete all information association their past drug binged out behavior to get a good job again when they post bond n shit right?"

Lawyer b)"actually more so the Feds know despite the rules that this type of site is going to be associated with overdoses and people messaging each other about drug trades and ratings disguised as 'cool bro thanks for the rose bush clippings' so in truth the Feds will be reading this shit inside your server daily. The good news? With your full cooperation and making it so hard to delete information and the most cooperation ever you will barely ever be liable. Barely ever. The law and courts will be on your side. No account can be deleted. The information will exist forever and ever and ever and ever. Chances are good you guys will rarely rarely be liable ever. Work for you?"

Group a) yeah sure. Let's do this site!

I think I got that fairly close. Even to the point a banned account isn't deleted. Even during maintenance hours at like 400 Am. Why take up more server space? Idk I could be wrong. This is what pops up in my head.

Figured if there is a lot of strange discussion on this site we might as well get some clarity about something or another.

This has been addressed by the staff literally hundreds if not thousands of times. It must be at least once a month that someone asks about this.

Posts are not deleted because that would make tons of threads make no sense. It would break conversations and make tons of stuff unreadable.

In addition, there's no reason to delete anything because nothing on the site has ever been used against anyone anyway.
