I was wondering how useful Glad press n seal was compared to parafilm or cling wrap for sealing petri dishes
Any insight is welcome

Look at Bods AF series. That's all he uses is seran wrap for plates. He even shows you how to do it in a video.

for ease of use I like parafilm, for cost I like cling wrap, didnt really care for press n seal much as the other two personally but everyone likes something different.
Id say try it and maybe you will like it more than me.

Micropour tape. You can buy it cheap at medical stores. Works amazing.

You wrap your petris in micropore tape? Sounds like a pain in the ass.
I have a shitload of para film but I dont like the stuff much. I'm guessing saran wrap would be easier to unwrap and less prone to getting holes. Parafilm is easy to overstretch. I'll try saran some day when I run out of parafilm it actually seems like the better alternative to me. I guess you know what they say though... grass is always greener.

I will use any method beside micropore tape, that’s the biggest pita imho. Parafilm take some practice to get used to but after 100 plates or so I had it down. I’d have zero issue going back to plastic wrap as long as the roll is sliced into small sections.

I'm with Nesmaster, I like using parafilm. 2 squares cut in half = 2 plates. I just pre-cut a shitload and get to work.
I did use wrap and it's equally good, just prefer parafilm now that I'm used to it.

Nice. Is press n seal gas permeable like the parafilm and cling wrap?
