Not to myself. That's crazy. But I do say most of my thoughts out loud when I'm alone

You don't talk to yourself, but you say your thoughts out loud when you're alone?

So by your logic you are speaking to... nothing? How is that less crazy?

Processing my thoughts. Like you explained. I have such a bad attention span I remember my train of thought way better if I hear myself say something. That's different than talking "to" myself as if I'm expecting a response.

Sometimes when I get so high that I don't even realize I'm quietly speaking outloud.

Or you know, in cases where something great happens and you're like "fuck yeah" but no one else is around and stuff like that. Sometimes "god damn it" or "fuck" as the situation requires, or maybe "ooooh" if I figure something out.

Probably occasionally outside of that too sometimes.

Oh, well that's what 95% of people mean when they say they are talking to themselves. The other 5% are Asante or schizophrenic

Lately anyway

There were a lot of times I was pretty harsh on myself and called myself a fucking idiot and felt intense regret

Even though it's mostly true I am a pretty big one , it could be worse

It's how you learn and grow , and it's really not as bad as it seems

I talk to myself so often that I start believing in the shit I say.  I'm slowly turning myself into an extremist.

Its a sign of intelligence to talk to yourself, just like above-average intelligent people often curse like a sailor.

Isn't that sort of how it all starts? You stop listening to what opposing viewpoints say until you are essentially talking into an echo chamber and only listening to your own voice spoken back to you?

I've heard talking to yourself is a way of processing information. Basically you create an information loop where it comes out of your processing centers, goes out of your mouth and into your ears where it gets re-processed, thus reinforcing ideas. Especially useful for people like me who are auditory learners

Calling inanimate objects cunts is done by literally everyone and anyone who says otherwise is a liar

Talking to yourself, I tend to think of it as just 'thinking out loud', is somthing that is, much like reading out loud, discouraged at an early age, noone wants there kids to say out loud what they think of their aunt...

Thinking out loud indicates that you will be using more of your brain, posibly opening up the self editing section of our "inner dialogue" via your inbuilt bullshit detecting region.

I've done it for as long as I can remember. I recal being embarrassed when I turned a corner into the road I lived on as a 6/7 year old, talking quite openly, and posibly animatedly, nearly bumping into a neighbour.
