ID Request, Found Yesterday, 09/08/19

Newbie here, attempting to do this right.  This is likely a common species found in California (in late summer!) but I can't identify it for the life of me. 

Habitat: Coastal redwood forest, growing from ground covered in redwood needles and cones, on flat bluff above flowing stream. Two specimens found growing solely, and one specimen a double.

Gills: Light pinkish, free.

Stem: Most interesting (to me!): Largest specimen is 3.5 cm in height, black purplish fading to pinkish near the cap.  2mm at base, thickening to 4mm near the cap.  Very tough and fibrous, double-tubed.

Cap: 3.5 cm (max) in diameter, smooth, dry, light orange-brown, edge irregular

Spore print color: Light brown, slight orange tint?

Bruising: none. (this is one tough lil' mushroom, I think)

Location: Coast, west of SF Bay Area.

Scent:  Well, to me (the newbie) it smells just like a mushroom.
