semilanceata monotub thought / question

i was just wondering if anyone has ever tried a monotub type grow using sod as a casing? i miss hunting them and wish they were not such a pain in the ass to grow. any thoughts on making it work? i just thought maybe the sod would be good cuz of all the grass roots that the mycelium likes

fuck it i guess il just try it and c what happens🤷🏽‍♂️ i may as well throw a batch of wavy caps in the works as well. that way il get something outta it  if im gnna be dicking around with cold weather shit this coming time of year. i was just wondering if anyone else had ever tried that with the liberties b4 was all? i have never been able to pull off an actual harvest of them so any pointers from someone who has would b great
