John Hopkins Playlist
    #26172080 -

Anyone ever tried the Johns Hopkins Psilocybin Research playlist?
It’s a lot of classical pieces that are amazingly beautiful and creative. Most of which I have never heard.
Just wondering what your experiences are. Have you ever listened while tripping? I think I may give it a go next time around the moon.

Yeah, I had it on spotify for awhile, beautiful music but I never got a chance to trip while laying down listening to it.

Well I’ve read and heard a lot about their psilocybin studies. They are pretty groundbreaking as far as scientific material and psychedelics.
It is in fact a beautiful playlist. I have not had a chance to lay down while tripping to it either but I may give it a go here soon..:

I appreciate that but I'm gonna have to find a way to download it, even if I have to do it track by track.  I think I could do this with Amazon music.

My internet is not 100% reliable and I'd hate to have streaming problems mid-trip.

Ya bummer.. It’s a lot of music so good luck. If you do get the chance tho it’s a great playlist.

I will say tho it seemed very Christian/catholic influenced which I wasn’t really against but wasn’t really for either.

I haven't listened to the Johns Hopkins' list, how does it compare to the ICL playlist?

I listened to it whilst tripping on mush.

Was excellent....hope you like strings.

At 8 hours for me it was too long so I'm glad I started it about a third in and it seemed to synch perfectly with the (quite heavy) experience.

Pulls you in softly through classical then moves into organic beats and chanting coming out the other side to what a wonderful world.

Can recommend.

Put it on right after dosing. Beautiful and smooth ride up. I ascended to heaven on the wings of an angelic chorus.

Aliens took over my brain shortly after though, and they weren't into music that night

I'd be interested in this too. I only have free Spotify and it plays ads which would interrupt the process, defeating the point of using such a playlist. I can't even get a Spotify Premium trial because I don't have a credit card. If I could get a Spotify Premium trial, I'd be able to download from Spotify directly.

The ads will for sure ruin the vibe.

TBH, I've never tried it. I've had a casual listen, but that's it. It seemed pretty good.

I throw it on pretty often when I take mushrooms.  It is pretty much perfect for what I trip for (cathartic release)

I found a way. Download AllToMP3  - it'll download all the tacks in 256kbps MP3 format.

You're welcome

Actually forgot about this. I know there is some science behind the specific playlist that's supposed to almost guide your trip.. but I usually just listen to the playlists I make up.

Bit I should give this a try sometime and see how it sets me off.

Mercedes Sosa is something else in her live performance of Gracias a la Vida.
I can’t remember the last time I heard a crowd cheer like that for one individual.
Absolutely stunning.

Fellas, I checked out the Spotify playlist, and I just gotta say the music looks great but the artists leave something to be desired.

I prefer baroque music played on period instruments.  If you've never heard Rachel Podger or Andrew Manze or Richard Egarr play Bach, you're missing out.

Here's an example, Rachel Podger playing Vivaldi (should be cued to 32:48):

t=1968

I'm planning a heroic trip soon, building my own playlist, and I'll share it if I can here.

I don't detect anything particularly magical about the John Hopkins playlist; I'm sure it works, but there's no reason not to build your own.

I've been pretty interested in this aspect of the Hopkins studies as the music is really the only stimulus during the Psilocybin sessions. This article highlights some of the research that went into developing the playlist: www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2017.01238/full?

This journal links to other publications in this vein but unfortunately you have to pay for them.
