I followed a tea tek I found here on shroomery. But basically ground up the mushrooms. Added lemon juice and hot water. Let sit for around 20 min and strain. This last time I had thought that maybe I wasn’t getting all the actives out, so I did a second steep and let that one sit for about 30 min. The second run I ingested about an hour after the first and still little to no effects.

Yup, bone dry. I just think the ones I’m finding are weak in comparison. I always have to remind myself that when studied there was found to be x10 difference in potency between specimens. Maybe the are I’m picking out of isn’t producing the most potent fruits. Maybe on a good day cincts are like cubes. For now I’m just gonna keep collecting until I have like 20g dry.

Hot water isn't good enough, boil your mushrooms, don't worry about the heat, stoves don't get hot enough to degrade the active compounds.

I thought boiling was a no no. How long do you boil for Doc?
The very last time I did this I tried 3.8g following Stamets “magicians brew” from his book. That was this last weekend and not a whole lot happened... that’s being on heat “below a boil” for an hour. A friend has also had my mushrooms and agrees they are very weak. Like level 1 off 4g dry.
After doing some research it would seem people are enjoying from 3.8-15g dry to achieve a lvl3 exp. I wonder if this is from misidentification or from variables in the potency.

Boiling is fine, it's oxidation that's bad. But if the mushrooms are submerged in boiling water with little or no exposure to the oxygen-rich air, then they won't be allowed to oxidize.

So then is it best to use a teabag? Or something like that to keep it down?

No, trust me, if you are making it for 1 person, use 10oz of waterbring to a slow boil, toss in shrooms and boil for 20, use a lid to keep evaporation down, after 20min turn and let steep another 10-15 min. Strain being sure to save the liquid, its where the goodies are. Now mix the liquid with koolaid of choice, hot chocolate, anything that will overwhelm the taste of the mushrooms because they taste like the ass the came from. Oxidation is only a factor when storing your mushrooms.

Lol they do taste like the dirty ass of something horrid. Not a pleasant flavor HA! Ya doc that’s basically my method minus the boil. I like to use a spiced chai. Two bags with honey. That plus some lemon juice seems to cut the mushroom taste significantly

I've done it before just using lukewarm water poured over sissor chopped fungus stirred for a few minutes every 10 minutes for 30 min with a second wash just to be sure. It worked fine
