OK. Pick with the spreads with the NFL.
    #26164651 - 09/02/19 12:09 AM (4 years, 6 months ago)

No entrance fee and the winner at the end of the superbowl gets a 50 dollar gift card of one's choosing.  No entrance fee.  Just choose.  I will post odds throughout the NFL season and playoffs each week only for the sole purpose of learning and will throq in some bonus gifts.

I live next to the Nevada border so I am doing this as a fan of the sport.  Am a huge Broncos fan and I bring this up because I don't want people to choose who they want to win, your hometown or nearest team, but who they think will win.

Moneylines are included yet they will be treated in a third category, 1/2 point since the NFL is a lot more unpredictable then College Football.

So starting out to see the interest level.  I will go by ESPN spreads and this isn't fantasy football which I fucking hate, this is for people that are fans of the NFL and want to participate.  Looking more for insight.

It is pretty much flip a coin until after week three I have learned but am starting now.

First game is Green Bay at Chicago with the Bears favored by three.  Who do you take?  Or Money Line.  I bet quite a bit legally in Nevada so if you don't know shit whatever, you can play.  Just add some reasons why or not and when the full schedule starts I will post, if there is enough interest, a W, L, or moneyline which obliterates the spread and will be a half point and rank each person week to week.

Once again, there is no entry fee.  More of a fan thing which there are some here.  Best of luck.

Sounds great. Are you going to do all the work rather than through a website? I don't understand anything about moneyline.

At any rate, I take Chicago with the -3.

Yeah, got to clarify more.  Moneyline is basically say like the Chargers/Colts game where to bet the spread one has to give -6.5 points to the Colts but with the moneyline is just another word for pick the winner.

Upsets for this get no bonus points but for those that just choose, say for the Chargers as it is even to bet the spread but for the moneyline they are like -230 to win a hundred.

So half a point to those that chose such as winners are much more easier to pick when there is no line involved.  Takes a little bit to learn but not complicated. This is just from a gambler and has nothing to do with this thread.  This is for fun.

Like I posted I bet quite a bit living next to Nevada and 50 is really nothing.  Is not illegal for gift cards for a winner of their choosing, like to see what people think.  Doesn't mean anyone has to follow all the teams as I sure as hell don't.  But there is always that one that stands out and I do quite well usually.  Why I want to throw in some bonuses for those who choose to participate during the season if there is enough interest.  Especially if someone picks someone that I wouldn't of thought of and I win on it.

People always assume their is a catch.  But in this, no.  This is enjoyable to me and I have integrity.  So let it begin, and once again there will never be an entrance fee.

So if enough are interested it will go like this.  And one can always take the points for the underdog if one chooses and get the W even if they lose within the point spread.

Username  W/L/M  M for moneyline basically for just picking a team which is easy in most games in the NFL.  One win equals 1 point.  1/2 point for just picking a team to win that does which is generous.  Choose your strategy people that choose to participate.

That it is basically.  But the smallest part of the rankings and the easy and boring way.

All teams are not equal. Spreads reflect that as does the moneylines and picking a team.  Much more interesting to me personally but to each their own.  Lot more strategy and intellect involved.  Or I could just watch the talking heads on ESPN and Fox and such.  Blah.

You organize it and I'll play it. I'll also play in the one with last year's website if anybody wants to play for money, or if anyone wants to do a side bet PM me.

Fuck this.  Going with the Chargers -6 1/2 over the Colts in Nevada.  Unless I change my mind and take Phillie over the Skins at -9 1/2.  Both are iffy, I hate betting this early in the season.  But if I win, epic end of Summer vacation.

Time to bet and see what happens.  Tired of wasting time on this thread.  So just pick-um people.:murray:

Yeah, just read Rodgers is banged up a bit earlier.  Sad to see Clay gone.  New coach, who the fuck knows?  I really can't till each year until after week three.  I once did a 3 team parlay on the first week and lost all three.  Taught me a lesson and made me laugh a bit looking back on it a long time ago.

Want to go with the Bears betting in Nevada to win a few bills.  I loved Mack even as a Broncos fan when he was a Raider but Trub concerns me in the limelight like this.  Think the Bears will play it really conservative.

Rodgers banged up and no more Jordy or Clay and with a new coach.  Might have to agree with you on that one.

That defense should still be solid. Don't think they had any major changes. Packers aren't good anymore, no defense and rodgers looks post prime.

Yes. Bears had no major changes on defense except the coordinator and from what I read he wants to be even more aggressive.

The spread is three and three is usually considered what home field is worth. So the betters are essentially saying the teams are equal. You're right. They're not. The Pack are declining in a lot of different ways. The main problem facing Chicago is going from a last place schedule to a first place schedule, but that's not an issue till later. Right now, they're at home facing their biggest rival so bloodthirsty motivation should be at peak levels. I expect Mack to be a beast on opening day on the national stage. I only hope the Bears have someone that can kick a field goal.

God, that still sticks with the Bear fanbase from the playoffs last year.  Which I get.  What a sportstown.  Chicago really should have two teams like with baseball or like New Jersey 1 and New Jersey two as some writer put it.  Tickets are not cheap but nothing in Chicago is except on the South Side.

Shit, might bet this tomorrow.  Very tempted.  Maybe I will make this a thread about spreads and who you would take as if one would put a large chunk of money on it. Which I do and since so many states are making betting legal, well 11 actually right now on your laptop or phone, casinos can be trusted, and they are now allowing it in Indian casinos, for the betters we have choices to make within reason.

So Bears -3 tomorrow.  But also looking at the Chargers playing in a MLS stadium -6.5 since the RB won't play.  But Rivers is a beast as is Bosa.  Then you have Phillie -9.5 at home against the horrid Skins, and finally Dallas against the equally horrid Giants as Zeke is back but with only three practices and at Jerry World at only -7.  Which causes some concern.

Fuck it, going with the Bears with the -3 and if they cover it, feel like it will be a push in O.T. or something as Rodgers in the limelight compared to Trub I like yet that Bears D.  Then on to Chargers.  Hope it works.  Have to look up who they brought in as their kicker this year.  I am used to Denver where we have a good one every year.

So on with it.

No, IMO he isn't post prime yet the team is and he is a bit banged up and wondering if the O-line can protect him or not.  Would love to see Mack just dominate.  New coach, just hard to go against Rodgers even if it was a College team behind him.

Anxious, that is the great thing about alcohol and drugs within reason when combined with gambling, within reason, one takes risks and will do so.  If I lose I blame the shroomery, lol.  Fuck it.  Interesting game for the NFL to open up with.  Look forward to it.

Dallas isn't a high scoring team so that -7 vs a divisional opponent is a solid spread.

True but the Giants are a team that will probably be in the bottom five in offense this year.  I wouldn't take them with the plus 7.  Though I usually shy away from underdogs anyway could never bet on the Giants.  I have no idea what to make of them this year as with the majority of teams, especially Cleveland except that I know that the G-Men are going to suck and the Cowboys will make the playoffs as a wildcard and Phillie for the division title is my best educated guess.  That I am pretty sure of.

After week 3 have a much better idea of all the teams watching them all in highlights and some games.  Starting out so much is just flip a coin.

Jags are intriguing with Foles at QB and that defense as dogs their first game.  Am interested in how they start out.  Been awhile for them at a competitive level and glad they finally gave up on Bortles.

Just got back from the Nevada border an hour ago.  So glad I backed out of betting against Rodgers though they only have ten points I bet heavy on Rivers and the Chargers.  Never expected this for the Green Bay D.

Boring game.  And a flag to further cement it on the punt.  Seriously, it takes till after week three in my opinion to get a grasp.  No excuses, but 3 points at home, really?  Desperation time and depressed Bears fans now.

Trub is going to get crucified now.  Can't rely on defense to score the touchdowns but still field position.  That was masterful.  Like one guy said on the "funbus" to Nevada, I wouldn't touch that game.  A younger man said the Bears in a parlay.  Glad I listened to the first one.

Now win by a T.D. Chargers on Sunday.  I always find it strange to have a piece of paper in my wallet that can be worth almost 400 dollars or just be paper and worthless after Sunday.  Life is strange.

The Bears offense has some pieces, but nothing comes together.
