Heat scaring call me crazy

I was just wondering can you use heat on a plant cutting to "close" a cut like you would on skin? my P viridis cuttings grow new roots in a week, way better than 6 months with leafs, but i have alots of failures from stems turning black at the cut with in 48 hours.

Cauterization?

I think it is less of an issue generally because without it tissue can just dry out okay, have you heard of a plant "bleeding out"?? I think that should answer your question..

That said.. it does depend on whether you have a more woody stem which just doesn't exude that kind of sap vs. some tissue which does exude a lot proportionately. All of those factors can be completely different from the vasculature on like a mammal. So: in some cases yes you would benefit from cauterization on plants.

Perhaps there are ways of using e.g. waxy materials to close off these vascular tissues that are less damaging but rather don't tolerate anything watery.
