Side-Water Monotub with hundreds of pins?

Hi there -

I have a standard monotub with at least 100-200 pins (maybe more). They are growing very very slowly, making me think a lot of them will turn into aborts based on reading other threads on here.

My question: The substrate hasn't sucked in yet to leave gaps on the sides quite yet. I'm thinking of pushing hte sides out just a bit to drop a good bit of side-water into it.

The sub definitely looks dry to me and I'm fearful there isn't enough moisture to feed all of these fruits. Last time I pushed out the sides of the tub to side-water it resulted in a ton of side-pins and ultimately a disappointing second flush.

Opinion on what? Your sentence structure, logical reasoning, critical thinking, or will to repeat mistakes? Need pics to give opinions that pertain to substrate conditions!

Pins were first seen exactly 2 weeks before taking this picture. Since then, one mushroom shot up and was harvested.

For what it's worth, I also started another monotub at the same time but with Penis Envy and that one has gone through a great first flush and already starting to sprout for a second one.

There ya go. How much water did you use in your sub? What's your sub made of exactly? It doesn't look like it's lacking in water to me. I only bottom water first flushes if the pinset is way gnarlier than that and the sub started on the dry side. I'd say keep the surface from getting too dry by lightly misting if and when it dries out a bit and you'll be fine.

Yeah if that’s coir, it looks wet. I’d say just make sure FAE is good and forget it

Quick update for anyone who digs this up in the future:

About ~2 days after the picture above the sides shrunk in as normal and I did end up side-watering a good bit. Lots of fruits coming up at various speeds, but have had a great haul overall and it's still producing.

Thanks for advice to hold tight a bit longer, I think that was the right call!
