I have wondered about the affects of using various types of animals as substrate and seeing what sort of thing happened.

Has anyone ever done that?

But to actually get the human body would be very hard. I use to get the Carolina Biological Catalogue and they had cadavers in it for like 1500 dollars. That is a lot of money for substrate. Plus they would probably have all types of preservatives in it. You also have to be a school to get one.

Good Luck.

Another topic that proves my point that the message boards are full of useless information. Camel if your serious then your and idiot and so are the others here who attempted to give you an answer.

Dude, you need to chill out.

In my experience, people who point at people and say idiot usually need to be pointing at themselves.

Now step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and if you need to take out some stress, go for a drive like a normal american.

Camel, I believe there may be some legal difficulties with cultivation fungal organisms in a human body, but I could be mistaken. Sounds like one of those state by state things.

Heh.

If I had 1500 dollars, I'd get a cadaver in a second. Once I was done with it, I would most certainly inoculate it.

Are they pre-preserved? Do you think it would cost extra for a cadaver that's not all doped up with preservatives? I'd like the cadaver to be a little ripe when it arrived.

I'll post my results once I've become significantly more rich and eccentric than I am now. Shouldn't take long...

You'd need a BIG pressure cooker or, i suppose you could cut it up into chunks and sterilize pieces while keeping the rest in the freezer on meat hooks (flame sterilize the hooks). You'd probably need to dessicate the body some to get the correct moisture ratio. You could grind it up before hand and mix in some vermiculite to keep the substrate airy but if you did this, beef hamburger would probably be a better bet since it's cheaper and would probably yield similar results. Good luck and use already-dead bodies only.

You can't get one that is not presevered.
The mail man would throw up from the smell.

As to sterilization you could always get a kids body and put it in the oven...

One last thing, Fuck you mdmax37.

you must be patheticly despirate to use a fucking dead body jesus christ man. the results aren't gonna be THAT great, not like you're gonna get 10 pound mushrooms from using human corpses, think a little, that's kind of wrong and sick. who would use a persons fucking body to do that shit? that's totally against everything i stand for, i am sure many people wouldn't want their parents DUG UP to use for substrate.

later.

i understood it was a joke just fine, but it was a sick joke, and shouldn't be brought up to my attention, i almost lost my father just recently, the thought of death to me isn't a good one. and using my father as substrate is even worse.

ta-ta.

This is the Internet, perhaps you should get used to images and ideas that you don't like being there all the same. Sort of like a board that discusses illegal activities might not be appreciated by all but valued by others.

I haven't been here that long but there seem to be a lot of folks who either want to dominate the conversation by being haughty about straying off-topic, or questions being stupid, or their sensibilities being offended for whatever reason. Can't you just read the messages and ignore the ones you don't like?

If you did not realize this post was a joke then you must truly be retarded. Wait, that's not fair to retards. At least they would be able to understand this thread was a joke. They should really make up a new name for people who, either don't have a clue, or do have a clue but take situations like this as an opportunity to make themselves look better than everybody else.

Uh, tekniq, so it's only not okay to joke about your father then right? Maybe when you're done killing Oxygen we can use his body for substrate seeing as your dad didn't die after all. Also, be sure to make up a list of things that offend you and post it on the internet. I'm sure everyone will go out of their way to make sure they avoid those specific topics.

Alright everyone, time to remove the hot dogs from your collective asses.

Maybe you could get someone (willing or unwilling) to drink a glass or spore solution right before their demise.

You'd have to make sure their stomaches were somewhat clean without acids/bacteria. Also, having them eat some sterilized grain or even colonized spawn wouldn't be a bad idea. BTW, I knew it was a joke immediately. Granted it is somewhat sick but it's nothing compared to some of the pics and things in otd. Hello.jpg anyone? If it bothers you so much, don't look at it.

I once used a corpse as a substrate but ended up eating in 3 - 4 days after inoculation... :frown:
