another fucking suicide

i'm getting too used to this shit. my cousin's kid, so i guess my second cousin? he just turned 18 a few weeks ago. as shocked as i am, i can't say i'm too surprised, he was pretty troubled. i feel bad for my cousin though. she also lost her dad to cancer about a month ago. feels shitty. :thumbdown:

Fuck man, thats rough. I often wonder why when we are so advanced as a species today with so many worldly comforts it seems so many people find they have nothing to live for.

I feel for you man, I've been lucky enough not to lose anyone close this year.

thanks. i kind of get it though. i mean i'm not suicidal, but my will to live isn't very strong. i don't necessarily want to die, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings any if i got hit by a bus or eaten by a shark or something. i think all our worldly comforts has a lot to do with it, actually. it's become too easy to survive. i think if we had to actually work for it, it might instill a bit more meaning. for a lot of people, living = waiting to die.

our entire society is based off of greedily exploiting everything, including innocent animals and children. its a pretty fucked up world to live in if you have any kind of empathetic tendencies. then when you get older you find out pretty much everyone is miserable and between rock and hard place and just lies to themselves to get through.

it isn't like the world is some hippy love den.

It's a depressing sign of the times we live in that suicide is on the rise. I feel it's evidence that humans aren't ment to live the way we are. Working 50 and 60 hour weeks to barely get by.
Meanwhile a handful use the masses like a disposable commodity traded for their own gains. All along they dangle a nonexistent carrot in front of us, promising that happiness is just one more achievement or meaningless object away. Poisiong us with food, processed sugar and contaminated water.
While they destroy our planet for profit they don't need.
When we do get a break from the rat race we spend it glued to screens pumping gear and propaganda into our brains to keep us divided and fighting ourselves, mentally and emotionally numb. Spiritually dead and miles away from our true selves, broken and alone.
Naturally our bodies and minds try to tell us this is all wrong but don't worry there are pills for that, and when those pills don't react well with our bodies we have pills for that too. If you get addicted to those pills we have more pills, a whole rainbow of pills to fix everything. Sure there are plants that would help but nobody can make millions off that.

A cowroker just had a funeral on tuesday for his nephew. Mom found him hangin in the garage. Im sure society in some way had a major influence.

Sorry for your loss man. That's heartbreaking. This generation has the highest depression and anxiety rate. Not only are we not accurately diagnosing these problems early on, but the medications themselves aren't a very viable medication. Everyone here know the power of psilocybin and if it were more researched and available to the world as a medicine it possibly could've saved her life.

I just heard my former neighbor was found hanging in his apartment, fucking shocking I drank with the dude a few times. I'm guessing it some combo of unemployment/loneliness/depression though he never said anything about it.
