Polyfill as an alternative to perlite?

I’ve been using polyfill instead of perlite in a SGFC anyone have any ideas on why this is working?

sure why not you dont even need perlite if you can jam the chamber full of cakes.

Wet cloths straight out of the washer will work too. It's only acting as a medium to hold water and allow it to evaporate there for keeping your cakes from drying out too fast.
