Small thin fruits; inconsistent pinset.
    #26156436 -

Hey. Having a bit of an issue with one of my unmodded monos. Spawned from 5 half-ish pints of rye on the 08/08. The box was a bit on the smaller side so I went with a smaller ratio of coco and the depth of the substrate is probably a bit too deep. It started fruiting about a week ago but unlike my other two monos (shredded BRF + coir, unmodded) this one has tons of side and bottom pins (I don't use liner, worked fine with other two runs). Also fruits are super tiny (3-4cm max) and really thin. The pinset is very random and impressive, considering how much spawn went into it. I feel like the depth of the substrate played a role in it, but not sure. Also I put this into fruiting straight away, whilst my previous two had at leas a week with a closed lid. The spores are from a different batch though (genetics?) Any suggestions?

I think you answered your own questions.

Always allow a spawn run into bulk materials for best results.

Fruits will form where conditions are right for them to form. The excess condensation indicates a temperature differential between the inside and outside of the tub, plus it appears your tub could use more fresh air and light.

It's also correct that the individual genetics which eventually merge from thousands of spores into a strain or two by fruiting time play a role.

Thanks mate, appreciate your input. I've tried to mix it as best as I can but somehow the bulk of the spawn ended up in the bottom. Do you think it makes sense to maybe rehydrate the cake and flip it since it clearly likes the bottom more?

The tub is very loosely covered with the lid, I put it almost sideways. Guess we I need more FAE, I'd almost have to remove it completely. Temperatures outside were pretty high last few weeks (up to 28C with 23C avg). As for the light, hm. All of my tubs are in the same room that gets decent light for good 10h, but I might put it elsewhere just in case
