Koods, I'm surprised, you know your chemistry.

If you have a substance that is difficult to dissolve in water, you dissolve it in a bit of water miscible organic solvent. When this solution gets poured in the water the difficultly soluble compound will change phases to form nanoparticles in water, ,which have such large surface area that they near instantly dissolve.

Its the same with menthol crystals and water, you can shake them till the cows come home, but if you dissolve the menthol in lets say alcohol first and then pour this into the water, bam, instant solution!

Think in respect to this of the Ouzo Effect that deals with suspension of completely hydrophobic oils in water through help of some alcohol.


Don't stop thinking too soon if you read something of mine that doesn't readily make sense to you, generally sense of sorts is in there.

For $1 you can have a little concentrate bottle in your cupboard that you can convert 100 big bottles into healthy instant lemonade with. Surely that is advantageous.

I dunno. I'm canadian but use feet, inches,gallons, and pounds. Also kilometers, millimeters, litres, and kilograms.
